relating my studies to life and business

Unlimited Potential.

Experience. Students do internships to gain it, new graduates don’t get hired if they don’t have enough of it, tenured professionals are revered because of it. Experience offers exposure to unexpected situations, difficult tasks, multitudes of personalities, challenges and problems that are hard to anticipate until they actually occur. Unfortunately, even for those of us who are open to learning from daily situations and our peers, there is always the challenge of how to improve, how to keep up with those around us and those we haven’t yet met.

I believe it is important for us as individuals, as managers and employees, to operate on a daily basis with the recognition that there is an infinite amount of knowledge to be obtained. Even if we had the ability to spend our their lives traveling the world, experiencing something completely different every day we would not be able to acquire as much knowledge as there is potential.

When you live your life continuing to reach further, learn more and strive to trumph the effort you gave today with what you will deliver tomorrow you will exceed the status quo. As you start the New Year, whether you are an executive, a migrant worker, a father or student is take the advice of former Kimberly Clark, CEO and never stop trying to become qualified for your job.

.. and when you begin to do this you will begin to thrive.

Reflections from readings on Learning by Case Method by Professor John Hammond.

  1. Kristen,

I completely agree. The moment you think you have learned everything you can about a subject someone will cross your path that knows significantly more in the same subject area. I think too many people settle for what they “already” know.
